Objective

To solve the publishing company's inability to promote new book releases effectively due to the time-intensive process of creating HTML email campaigns - requiring gathering book data, designing layouts, writing copy, and formatting for email platforms.

The publisher was only sending 1-2 campaigns monthly because each one took 6-8 hours to create. They needed a system that could generate professional, engaging email campaigns automatically for every new release, increasing promotion frequency without hiring a marketing team.

Automation Process

1. Data Collection: Amazon URLs and metadata input into Google Sheet triggers n8n workflow that automatically scrapes book title, author, cover, description, price, rating, and reviews. Data structures into organized format with one row per book.

2. Campaign Generation: HTML email template accepts dynamic variables. Workflow groups books by theme, generates complete mobile-responsive emails with formatting, images, and CTAs. AI rewrites descriptions in brand voice and generates optimized subject lines.

3. MailerLite Integration: Workflow connects to MailerLite API to create draft campaigns automatically, schedule send dates, and assign subscriber segments. Publisher reviews and approves. Validation checks ensure images load, links work, and formatting is consistent.

4. Batch Processing: System handles multiple books in one campaign or creates single-book spotlights. Scales effortlessly whether 5 or 20 books monthly.

Results

Campaign frequency increased from 1-2 per month to 10+ per month, ensuring every new release gets promotional support. The publisher no longer has to choose which books to promote based on available time - every title gets attention.

Email quality actually improved despite the automation because templates ensure consistent branding, mobile responsiveness, and professional design. The AI-enhanced descriptions often perform better than the original manual copy, resulting in higher click-through rates to purchase pages.
